WELCOME TO THE 49th SIMPOSIO DE LA ASOCIACIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE ECONOMÍA

The University of Illes Balears is pleased to host the 49th Simposio de la Asociación Española de Economía-Spanish Economic Association (SAEe), to be held in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, on 16-18 December, 2024.

The main goal of the Spanish Economic Association is the promotion and dissemination of scientific knowledge in economics through the organization of conferences, publications, and any other activity that may further that aim. The Simposio brings together experts in all areas of economics every year in December.

SAEe also provides a vibrant venue for PhD students to present their work.

Fundación Ramón Areces and the Spanish Economic Association will provide fellowships to PhD students who are presenting a paper at SAEe. All PhD Students submitting a paper will be automatically considered for these fellowships, and the selection will be done by the Scientific Committee, based only on scientific quality. The fellowships will cover the conference registration fees for the selected candidates.

Plenary Lectures will be given by Nicola Fuchs-Schündeln de (Goethe University Frankfurt), Ricardo Reis (London School of Economics) and a third speaker to be announced soon. Nagore Iriberri (University of the Basque Country) will deliver the Presidential Address.

The Spanish Economic Association and its Education Committee organize the fifth SAEe PhD School. The PhD School will take place on the day of the start of the SAEe (16 December 2024) and the morning of the second day (17 December 2024) at Universitat de les Illes Balears. The Spanish Economic Association will award some fellowships for students participating in the school. The fellowships will cover the registration fee for the selected candidates.
