The Spanish Economic Association Job Market, intended for PhD graduates in economics, meets during the Simposio. Over 120 students presented their papers at SAEe 2011 in Málaga. They were PhD Job Market candidates from top graduate programs worldwide (Boston University, CEMFI, Cornell University, INSEAD, London School of Economics, New York University, Northwestern University, Paris School of Economics, Simon Fraser University, Stockholm School of Economics, Universidad de Alicante, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, University of California, Universite Catholique de Louvain, University of Oxford, Universitat Pompeu Fabra,  Yale University, among others).

University departments and research departments of other academic and non-academic institutions searching for graduate economists participate in the Spanish Economic Association Job Market every year. In 2011, 23 institutions scheduled interviews at the Simposio.

Some information about the two types of activities related to the job market for economists at the Simposio:
 
1) Presentations of papers by candidates. Candidates interested in presenting a paper may submit it through Conference Maker up until 16 September 2012. Decisions on acceptance will be notified no later than 19 October 2012. Accepted papers will only be included in the final programme if authors have registered by 28 October 2012.

2) Interviews between candidates and institutions.
