The Spanish Economic Association Job Market, intended for PhD students in economics, meets during the Simposio. Over 120 students present their papers at SAEe every year. They are PhD Job Market candidates from top graduate programs worldwide (Bocconi University, Boston University, CEMFI, Cornell University, Columbia University, European University Institute, Harvard University, INSEAD, London School of Economics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University, Northwestern University, Paris School of Economics, Stockholm School of Economics, Tilburg University, Universidad de Alicante, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, University of California, University of Cambridge, Université Catholique de Louvain, University of Chicago, University of Minnesota, University of Oxford, University of Pennsylvania, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Yale University, among others).

Some information about the two types of activities related to the job market for economists at the Simposio:
- Presentations of papers by candidates. Candidates interested in presenting a paper must submit it through Conference Maker up until 15 September 2018. Decisions on acceptance will be notified no later than 15 October 2018. Accepted Job Market candidates do not need to apply for the grants funded by the Fundacion Ramon Areces and the Spanish Economic Association. The Scientific Committee will select 100 papers that, according to its quality, will be entitled to receive the grants.
- Interviews between candidates and institutions.
- Candidates interested in being interviewed by institutions should get in contact directly with those institutions. Click here for some Useful information for candidates.
- Institutions interested in interviewing candidates should register at the Simposio. During the registration process, there is the option to indicate their participation as an interviewer in the job market. The local organization will provide small rooms in-campus for the interviews. Fundación Ramón Areces and the Spanish Economic Association sponsors the Spanish Economic Association Job Market and awards 100 grants for candidates who present a paper at the conference. The amount of the grant will only cover the registration fee to the SAEe.
